“Meet The Messiah”

The Gospel of Matthew

Matthew, the Jewish tax collector was called away from his entire life and living with only two words, “Follow me.”  Then Matthew wrote a book to explain why.  Matthew did not follow another person.  Matthew followed The Messiah.  Messiah is not the name of someone.  Messiah describes who someone is.  The Messiah is “The Deliverer.”  Everybody wants and is waiting to be delivered.  Precious babies in their mother’s wombs.  Children into academics.  Teenagers into adulthood.  Adults are wanting and waiting to be delivered from anxiety, finances, or hardships, and into careers, relationships, and joy.  The Deliverer then, today, and tomorrow is Jesus Christ.  Being delivered is wonderfully mysterious and calls for an explanation.  The Messiah will “explain everything.”  We think we know and can do anything but quickly discover nothing fits.  Nothing matters.  Nothing works.  Nothing HELPS!!!    What Christians have fits, matters, works, and it will help because we know The Messiah.  Jesus Christ tells us how to be delivered.  Jesus Christ teaches us how to be delivered.  Jesus will “explain everything” to us.  Come and meet The Messiah.

Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
